Psalm 121 (Producer, Director, Editor). This travelogue call to worship was commissioned by and first screened for Montreat Presbyterian Church, where it was accompanied by live musical accompaniment by B. Braboy. Montreat, NC. 2004. It has since been screened in devotional settings such as the 2005 Calvin Workshops for Communication and the 2006 Kuiper Seminar.

Creed (Producer, Director, Editor). This experimental worship film was commissioned by and first screened for Montreat Presbyterian Church as a meditation on the Apostles’ Creed. Montreat, NC. 2004.

Thirty-Three (Producer, Director, Editor). This experimental meditation on Psalm 33 was commissioned by and first screened for the Worship & Technology Conference, Third Christian Reformed Church, Denver, CO. 2004. It has since been screened in devotional settings such as Calvin College’s 2005 Festival of Psalms and in John Witvliet’s presentation to the 2007 Worship Arts Symposium, “The Biblical Psalms in Christian Worship.”

FutureWorship 1.0 (Producer, Director, Editor). This documentary – commissioned by the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship first screened at its 2004 Worship Arts Symposium – chronicles the use of multi-media technology in seven small churches. 2004.

Androgyny (Producer, Director, Editor). This M.F.A. thesis film is an experimental dance video which explores gender roles as identified through visual images and movement. Greensboro, NC. 1992.

Equipment Inventory System. Collaboration with the Baron-Forness Library’s Anthony McMullen and Elisa Mason to digitize and automate equipment circulation and late fines. Includes standardized labeling and rewrite of all loan policies. Anticipated completion December 2023.

FA19 Film Festival. Collaboration with Brad Patullo and Film Club President Noah Shettel. Helped to assemble the program timeline, created new animated laurel graphics, arranged for a catered reception in a new, larger venue (responding to survey data collected Summer 2019). Pogue Multi-Purpose Room, December 2019.

Cinema Area Signage. Collaboration with Terri Moats. Designed and supervised installation of a student recruitment/retention initiative to label the Doucette classrooms and laboratories for film and animation. Branded artwork and short videos identify the purpose and benefits of spaces for touring visitors. Completed December 2019.

Poster Galleries. Supervised framing and installation of posters highlighting films on which EUP graduates have worked:  animation gallery, 2nd floor hallway; live action gallery, classroom 109; stop-motion gallery, ground floor office corridor.  Completed December 2019.

Equipment Loan Inventory, Repair, and Purchasing.  Comprehensive initiative to replace missing and repair broken items with an emphasis on standardizing portable kits for student checkout.  Summer 2019.

Film Webpage.  Content authoring for the department’s redesign. 2018-2019.

Soundstage Redesign and Renovation. Includes hard-cyc green screen removal and replacement; securing bids for track, curtain, and lighting grid; and grant-writing with Rosemari Graham, Director of Grants and Sponsored Programs. 2018 to present.

Audio Recording Booth. Relocation of soundproof enclosure to Doucette 109. Rewiring/reconfiguration so students will be able to record professional audio directly to the server from the classroom’s existing computer work stations. Includes new speaker system to accommodate the existing projection and new audio recording systems.  April 2019.

Post-production Laboratories. Supervised the creation and renovation of four work stations for video editing, audio mixing, and color grading. The spaces in which filmmakers will work are designed to be spectrally neutral with a high noise reduction coefficient. Two are newly configured for professional audio signal routing. All are secured with keypads, restricting access to students with individual entry codes.  March 2019.

Cinema Area Signage. A student recruitment/retention initiative to label the Doucette workspaces for film and animation. The G3 corridor has been painted. Each door therein now identifies the project work, equipment, and software associated with each room. Two poster galleries have been hung: one highlighting films on which EUP graduates have worked; a second commemorating the campus’s biannual film festivals. January 2019.

FA18 Film Festival. Collaboration with Brad Patullo and Film Club President Noah Shettel. Assembled the program timeline, introduced by a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel. Arranged for a catered reception, a step-and-repeat, and (with significant support from Learning Technology Specialist Dan Mitchell) a new projector for Doucette 119. December 2018.

Server-Based Editing. Established in concert with Information Technology’s Adam Rupert which allows students to share massive media files at every stage of post-production. More than facilitating workflow convenience, server-based editing trains our graduates in a high-demand industry skill. Fall 2018.

Film Area Purchasing. Reconfigured in collaboration with Assistant Controller Sean Bliley, mechanisms are now in place to subsidize upper-level student film production, specifically providing for project entry in national festivals and the hiring of professional actors. Fall 2018.

Open House. Represented the Cinema Program in presentations and discussions with prospective families. October 20, 2018.

Equipment Loan Office. Redesign and replacement of all shelving units, lockers, and work surfaces. Includes mold and mildew abatement. Creation of secure auxiliary storage. Fall 2018.
