SKILLS TESTING

To assess proficiency within the major, you will have two class periods to complete the following tasks.  The assignment is purposely open-ended to allow for student creativity.  In simpler terms, you’re auditioning.  Show me what you’ve got – and then we’ll talk about production crew responsibilities for the semester.

1 Use the Storyboarder app to storyboard this script.
2 A Take 6 photographs (not less than 3000 pixels in their shortest dimension) of the same still life.  The purpose of 3 photos should be to make the subject more attractive to viewers.  The purpose of the remaining three is to make the same subject less attractive to the viewer.
B Insert the photos (each with a 10-second duration) into a single Premiere Timeline.  The timeline should conform to PBS Redbook standards.  Any post-production adjustment to the photos must be made in Adobe Premiere only.  Submit corresponding footage log and lighting plots.
C Save to the server as an Adobe Premiere Pro project in organized folders which include all raw files and necessary documentation.
3 Record a 30-second reading of poetry or prose.  Import it to an Adobe Premiere timeline for editing and mixing.  Add at least two sound effects (at least one of which must be originally recorded) and one passage of music.  Save to the server as an Adobe Premiere Pro project in organized folders which include all raw files and necessary documentation.
