Multicam sequences for single cam productions

Before you create a multicam sequence:
- IMPORT DIALOGUE source files from media browser to bins in the project window.
- SELECT ALL DIALOGUE source files in the project window (include video clips as well as audio only clips)
- CLIP > MODIFY > AUDIO CHANNELS.
- Preset: MONO.
- Clip Channel Format: MONO
As indicated by the FOOTAGE LOG, command click to choose a single video clip and its attendant audio clips.
⚠ Audio clips will appear in multicam sequence tracks in the order they are selected from the project window.
⚠ CAMERA AUDIO tracks will appear LAST by default.
CLIP > CREATE MULTICAMERA SOURCE SEQUENCE
- DISABLE: Move source clips to Processed Clips Bin
- Audio Sequence Settings: ALL CAMERAS
- Audio Channels Preset: AUTOMATIC
The resulting multicam sequence may be edited like any other clip or nest.
- Load it into the SOURCE MONITOR
- Set IN– and OUT-points,
- TOGGLE destination video and audio tracks in the target sequence
- Use the INSERT or OVERWRITE commands to move your selection to the playhead of the target sequence
Why MULTICAM and not sync & merge clips?
- Multicam sequences combine an unlimited number of video and audio sources
- Multicam sequences can be modified; merged clips cannot.
- Multicam preserves more clip metadata.
- Matchframe (F) performs more functions in multicam mode.
