CONNECT
- Turn on UAD Meter & Control Panel
- Turn on UAD Console
- Configure MAC System Settings
- Sound > Output & Input Preferences to “Universal Audio Thunderbolt”
- Privacy & Security > Microphone > Enable Adobe
- Configure AUDITION
- Adobe Audtion > Settings > Audio Hardware
- Device Class: CoreAudio
- Default Input: System Default – Universal Audio Thunderbolt
- Default Output: System Default – Universal Audio Thunderbolt
- Clock: Out: System Default – Universal Audio Thunderbolt
- I/O Buffer Size: 512 Samples
- Sample Rate 48000 Hz
- Configure UA INTERFACE
- UA PREAMP BUTTON toggles between mic and line inputs. Select MIC CH1. Use LEVEL KNOB to set mic level.
- UA MONITOR BUTTON toggles between speaker and headphone outputs. Use LEVEL KNOB to set output volume.
RECORD (.sesx)
- File > New > Multitrack Session.
Save to appropriate server bin with standard Philm nomenclature - Template: None
- Window > Workspace > Default
CLICK TRACK time display (Properties Window)
- Time format: Bars and Beats
- Tempo: 100 beats/minute
- Time Signature: 4/4
- Enable Metronome
TUNING TONE in Track 3: Effects > Generate > Tones
- New Audio Files
- File Name: Tuning Tone
- Sample Rate: 48000
- Channels: Stereo
- Bit Depth: 32 (float).
- Base Frequency: 261.63 Hz (Middle C)
I/O ROUTING → Track 1 Input: [01M] Universal Audio 1
RECORD ARM/ENABLE vocal track. Then hit RECORD. Any track which is not record enabled should simultaneously play back in monitor/headphone outputs.
