ORGANIZE, LABEL and SPLIT (or “checkerboard”) timeline audio tracks.

ADR.  Replace unusable clips with alternate takes or “looping.”

Choose the BEST MIC.  Disable (but do not delete) audio clips which will not be used.

Extend the beginning and end of each audio clip with overlapping HANDLES.

Add MICROFADES to the beginning and end of each audio clip to minimize abrupt silence.

MATCH LOUDNESS of multiple characters to a target average of -12 dBFS (or -23 LUFS).

CLEAN UP using an Adobe Essential Sound pre-set (as a start).

Route track outputs to character SUBMIX channels.  Assign all submix channels to a single DIALOGUE STEM.

Layer the scene with a track of ROOM TONE or AMBIENCE.
