Joining the corps of student workers that staffs studios and equipment loan offices is an important and coveted addition to a career-ready resumé. The position often amplifies major course assignments by increasing student familiarity with film/photo equipment and workflow. Conscientious performance is often rewarded with employment over multiple years of university enrollment and valuable letters of recommendation.
Compensation & Hours
The campus rate of pay is $7.25 – $10 per hour. The average weekly working assignment is expected to be from 6 to 10.5 hours.
Duties
- inventory and maintain lights, cameras, microphones, and other filmmaking & photography tools;
- monitor and tutor students working in production and post-production studio facilities;
- monitor and troubleshoot high-resolution photo printing;
- assist faculty with filmmaking & photography projects and related administrative duties.
Preferred qualifications
- Successful completion of Introduction to Photography (ART2005) or Introduction to Digital Filmmaking (ART2105)
- G.P.A. of at least 2.8 with at least 18 hours of credit earned at PennWest Edinboro
- Declared Applied Media Arts Major
- Successful completion of candidacy requirements for the Animation or Digital Filmmaking & Photography concentrations.
